Memorial services for Mary Dillman Burke, 82, of Aiken, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Cedar Creek Community Center following the service. Mrs. Burke, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Helen Dillman. Ms. Dillman graduated from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, PA in 1956. She was a Fashion Designer at Rosenau Brothers, where she designed girls dresses, including a line of Shirley Temple clothing. She was also responsible for many of the dresses for "Cinderella Frocks". Mary married Philip Burke in 1973 in Ambler, PA, where they lived with their combined family of 6 children for 23 years. In 1996 they moved to Cedar Creek and have been active in many of the social and charitable groups there and in Aiken.
Survivors include her loving husband, Philip Burke of Aiken, children Phyllis Burke-Russell of Greensboro, NC, Eileen Burke (Michael Loeper) of Glenside, PA, Beverly Burke of Aiken, Victor Burke of St. Paul, MN, Ellen Miller of Chalfont, PA and Charles Miller (Jessica) of Denver, CO; a brother, James Dillman (Connie) of Oakton, VA; a sister, Sarah Yanzek (John) of Pittsburgh, PA and grandchildren, Cecelia Roust, Benjamin Russell, Wesley Miller and Miles Miller.
