Obituary of Carmine Joseph Napolitano

AIKEN, SC— Carmine Joseph Napolitano, age 74, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018.

 

Mr. Napolitano was born December 20, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Antonio and Pauline Napolitano. He began his career as a brick mason and retired as a mechanic with Con-Edison. Mr. Napolitano had made Aiken, SC his home since September 2001, having previously lived in Staten Island, NY for many years. He was a very energetic and active person. His family stated that he was always doing something and loved everyone, especially his beloved family. He enjoyed cooking, classical cars, photography, and was an award winning archer. He also enjoyed keeping his property in immaculate condition. Mr. Napolitano had been a volunteer with the STAR program and had served on the Architectural Review Board of the Cedar Creek residential community.  He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

 

Mr. Napolitano is survived by his adoring wife of 53 years, Marie Napolitano, whom he has known since he was six years old; his beloved two children, Lucy Lane (John), Long Island, NY and Christopher Napolitano (Andrea), New Tripoli, PA; his revered grandchildren, Kathleen Battista (Bryan), Christopher Napolitano, Carolyn Lane, John Lane, and Robert Napolitano; a sister, Laura Napolitano, Staten Island, NY; and a brother, Anthony Napolitano (Janet) Staten Island, NY.

 

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the old historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave., with the Very Rev. Father Gregory Wilson as celebrant. Final prayers and commendation will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the building fund of St. Mary’s, PO Box 438, Aiken, SC 29802.
