Montmorenci. A memorial service for Dr. Henry A. Langston, Jr., MD, will be held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at George Funeral Home 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken at 10:30am with Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to Aiken?s First Baptist Church 120 Chesterfield St. NE Aiken, SC 29801. Dr. Langston, 76, of Aiken, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at his residence. The only child of the late Henry A. Langston, Sr. and Reba Free Langston, he was born in Sardis, SC. He graduated from Sardis High School in 1946 and the University of SC in 1950. He then served in the United States Army from 1950- 1952 and was honorably discharged. He then attended MUSC and graduated in 1955 and received his medical license in 1956. He began a private practice in Aiken in 1957 that continued until May of 1996. He was affiliated with Aiken County Hospital, then Aiken Community Hospital, then Aiken Regional Medical Centers as an active staff member until December 4, 1995, then upon request has become a member of the Courtesy Staff of Aiken Regional Medical Centers due to accepting a position as Chief of Medical Services of Trenton Correctional Institution. During the 1990?s he had also worked, part-time at the Barnwell Hospital, Emergency Room. Dr. Langston became board certified in family practice in 1980 and recertified most recently through 2005. He was a member of Aiken?s First Baptist Church, Aiken County Medical Society, SC Medical Society and the American Medical Society. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dr. Langston is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Hewitt Langston, Montmorenci, three sons; Henry A. Pat Langston, III, Ponce Inlet, FL, Rion Vassy Emory Langston, Aiken and Eric Hewitt Langston, Aiken, two daughters; Reba Lenora Langston, Charleston, SC and Lisa Amelia Steven Nelson, Charleston. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Cody Nelson, Amanda Nelson and Rion Abbott Langston.
