Dear Family: I had the distinct honor to know and work with Glenn for 18 years as FBI Columbia's Polygraph Examiner and Evidence Response Team Leader. I always looked forward to seeing and working with Glenn, Debbie, Wes and Jack. Glenn was always so positive carrying that smile of his wherever he went. Everyone loved Glenn-Everyone. My deepest and sincerest sympathy.

Deepest Sympathy in the passing of Glenn. A quality person to be missed. I was on active duty in the USN VAQ-131 at " Bagel Station" near Beirut a few weeks after the bombing. Did not find out for several months later that Glenn had been there.

I was a brand new 2nd Lieutenant that just completed my schools (training), and my first assignment was to the 24th Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU) deployed in Beirut, Lebanon. Glenn was a senior 1st Lieutenant assigned to the 24th MAU. I always admired Glenn in how he conducted himself; his intelligence, bearing, positive attitude, command presence and always displaying a confident attitude that Marines respected. Glenn taught me allot and helped me to become a better Marine Officer. We slept about 10 feet away from each other. On 23rd Oct 1983, Glenn was hit in the forehead and bleeding pretty bad. I was hit in the chest and spitting-up blood. When I saw the carnage that morning I began throwing-up and regained my composure and starting helping Marines. Glen never flinched and started helping Marines, and had a look of determination that he knew exactly what he has doing, while still bleeding pretty bad from his forehead. Glenn was the kind of individual that would have succeeded in anything he attempted in life, and he went about achieving his goals with honor. I was proud to have served with him and call him my friend. My prayers go to Glenn's family. Heaven just received a great person. Godspeed and Semper Fi, Bob Terry, Captain, USMC

Dear Debbie:
I am so surprised to read about your loss and the passing of Glenn. I will always remember him from the class of '76 as the red haired kid who shared a canoe with me along our journey together down the Hughes River. It was a class expedition supervised by David Delong, history teacher . . . Glenn was up front in the bow and would always turn around and yell (or request) me to paddle . . . . I will miss him. In addition, I recall I was once in the old downtown Post Office getting some mail (I want to say around 1984?) when I was surprised by him also being there and informing me that he was, or had, retired from government service and was looking to spending time back in P-Burg. He always spoke highly of you and was very proud of you being his wife. I, of course, knew you from P.H.S. and biology class (sitting alphabetically next to a "Powell") and affirmed he had, in fact, married a good woman. I will miss following him on Facebook as he was pretty confident about getting a wooden boat that he was building completed and launched. I like to think that it was I who first introduced Glenn to his interest in watercraft via canoe . . . .
Glenn was a gentleman and dedicated warrior in all aspects of life, from friendships to relationships, from being a husband to being a father, from private citizen to government servant - he was someone I was proud to consider a friend and I will miss him. My condolences. If I can do anything for you during this time and after, please call me without hesitation. Eric Powell 304-356-9420 (cell)

Glenn - we never saw much of each other over the years with our living in different states but I am so happy that we got to bond 8 yrs ago on the internet sharing all we knew of our Irish ancestors. You helped me out so much in finding about my grandmother/your great grandmother - Maggie Duffy. Please give Maggie a hug for me up there. Love, Cousin Peg O'Rourke

Debbie ... please accept condolences to you and your family. Evi and I hoped to visit you and Glenn before he passed. We kept praying and believing that God would grant him a least a bit more time with you . We were honored that he shared his situation with us and confirmed that he was prepared to meet his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are in New Jersey working to get Evi's younger brother's body shipped back to his family in Texas from the Dominicum Republic while she is also nursing her mother back to good health. That said, please let us know if we may help you in any way ... and please stay in touch with us and the rest of the BVA family. God bless you
I pray God will ease your loss as you shift from Glenn's sudden absence to your shifting toward recalling what a wonderful marriage you had. We love you.

My thoughts and prayers to the Family of a great friend, husband, and father. Lt. Glenn Dolphin was great Marine, and a leader that we all loved and cherished in a place that took it's toll on our nerves and mental well being. I appreciated his guidance in Beirut and his dedication to his marines in dealing with Capt. Kahn. May you rest in peace and in Heaven for you have spent your time in hell. Be with God!

Glenn and I were neighborhood buddies and classmates of 1976 starting from elementary school. I can still remember that red hair and huge smile from those early classroom pictures like it was yesterday. He was always kind to everyone and had a curious fascination and interest in people and other things that typically didn't matter to other kids. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and know that he will be deeply missed. Sincere condolences, Rene' Garmon Gleason

My husband , the late Mike Sharp and I first met Glen and Debbie soon after moving to Aiken from Virginia in 2005. We had many fun times over dinners here at our house in Windsor
Glen had the best stories of his "life events" that made the whole evening a definite do over and made it an honor to call him our friend.
He was the most considerate person and his wife Debbie has been my friend and confidant for the last few years. Together they were the "perfect " couple.
I will miss you Glen, but you have just as importent accomplishments yet to come.
