Mrs. Gladys Mae Peace, 94, of Aiken, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral services for Mrs. Peace will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Millbrook Baptist Church with Dr. Eddie Leopard officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Adams, Mike Peace, Brian Fraser, Ken Temples, Gary Stooksbury, Ron Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be the Milbrook Chriatian Anglers, and Whitlers. The family will receive friends tonight Monday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Born in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Geneva Owens. She lived in various cities before moving to Aiken in 1989. She was a retired lab technician from Burlington. She was a loving mother and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty nine years, John Peace, two brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Peace, sons, John R. Vi Peace, Maurice Gay Peace, all of Aiken; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
