A Requiem Mass for Richard "Rich" F. Furgiuele, Jr.,will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment, with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a Wake service taking place at 7:30 pm, at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER.

Mr. Furgiuele, 73, of Aiken, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Born in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Richard and Ethel Scofield Furgiuele. Rich graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School, then served in the US Army from 1961 thru 1965. After the service he worked in the oil industry for 15 years and was part owner with his wife, of Professional Government Educators for 16 years. Mr. Furgiuele was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Aquinas Council Knights of Columbus in New York and was a Eucharistic Minister in both St. Michael the Archangel Church in Netcong, NJ and for 10 years and at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken. He is an exempt Volunteer Fireman having served in NJ for 10 years. He along with his wife served as the Senior Presenting Team for Catholic Engaged Encounter Weekends in NJ and SC..
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Camille Furgiuele of Aiken; a son, Michael Furgiuele (Ann) of Norwalk, Connecticut; a daughter, Catherine Dempsey (Phil) of Pearland, Texas; sisters, Barbara Doyle (Jim) of Viera Beach, Florida, MaryEllen Wukovits of Queens, NY and Theresa Sanjurjo (Bert) of Yorktown Heights, NY; 4 grandchildren, Aly, Tim, Megan and Evan.
