Funeral services for Mr. E. Bruce Selman, Jr. will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 11am at St John's United Methodist Church, Aiken, with Rev. Dr. George Howle officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, with military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park, Ave, SW, Aiken and following the burial at Ward Hall. Mr. Selman, 86, of Aiken, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late E. Bruce and Bernetta Hillebrand Selman, Sr. He lived in Ithaca, NY and Waynesboro, GA, before moving to Aiken in 1967. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge # 274 in Newfield, NY. Bruce owned the Sno-Cap for several years, Selman Wholesale Electric, and Lighting Concepts. He liked horse back riding, making jewelry and was a pilot. Bruce proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. Bruce is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Jane Crissey Selman, children, E. Bruce Selman, III and his wife Lourdes of Brandon, FL; Jennifer L. Jackson and her husband John of West Columbia, SC; Gary J. Selman and his wife Lynda of Alexandria, VA; brother, William E. Selman, Havana, FL; grandchildren, John Valdario, Jr., Crissey Watkins, Anthony Selman, Jonathan Selman, Stephen Selman, Christopher Selman, Stacey Selman, Caroline Selman, great grandchildren, Brittany Valdario, Lauren Valdario, Reagan Watkins, Lani Selman, and Caylee Watkins.
