Obituary of Golden D. Casto

Funeral services for Mr. Golden D. Casto will take place on Tuesday at 2pm at Levels Baptist Church, Aiken, with Pastor Gordon Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews Wade Casto, Drew Casto, Tom Casto, Luke Casto, Matt Casto and Steve Walters. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1pm until the time of the service. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC is assisting the family. Mr. Casto, 84, of Aiken, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken. A son of the late Hubert and Sadie Boggus Casto, he was born in Dunbar, WV and had lived in Aiken for over fifty-five years. He was retired as a union electrician at the Savannah River Site. He was a long time member of Levels Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. He served in the Civilian Corps of Electricians during World War II and assisted in rebuilding Pearl Harbor. He was also an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a sister, Wanda Tucker and three brothers, Perry Casto, Calvin Casto and Herbert Casto. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Finney Casto, Aiken; a sister, Jan Roy Walters, Morgantown, NC and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Casto, Athens, GA and Rita Casto, England. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
