Obituary of Donald Bryan Allison

Donald Bryan Allison, Jr., 65, of Aiken and beloved husband of thirty years of Frances Elaine Tavelle Allison, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. He was born July 28, 1948 in Whitman, West Virginia to the late D.B., Sr., and Katherine Loveless Allison. His family moved to South Carolina in 1952 where he attended Camden Military School, Aiken High School and Clemson University. He was nominated as Wofford Scholar and could have applied for the baseball scholarship to Presbyterian College, but chose his beloved Clemson University as his first choice. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years and Georgia National Guard for two years. He was retired from Georgia Power Company and had worked at High Voltage Specialist, Inc., in Augusta, until his illness. He enjoyed saltwater fishing, golf, NASCAR and the Clemson Tigers. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 27, 2014, at Aiken Memorial Gardens, the family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 am Friday, at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory and name to Aiken SPCA, Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Road, Aiken, SC 29801, or at their website, www.spca-albrecht.org/. The Golden Harvest Food Bank or the charity of one's choice. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; a son, James William Allison of Marietta, Georgia; one grandchild and one sister.
