Graveside services for Mr. Marion Stephen "Steve" Kooy, 70, of Windsor, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri Development Center, PO Box 698, Aiken, SC 29802. Mr. Kooy, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Mary Duke Kooy. He was an ex P3C Flight Engineer with the US Navy, retiring after 22 years of service. Steve was also the Past Post Commander with the VFW Post 5877. Surviving are his son, Troy Randall Kooy of Charleston; daughters, Rose Mary Lea Kooy of Cumberland, Maine, and Stephanie Renee Kooy Wood of Houma, Louisiana; a brother, Galen Ralph Haffner of Windsor; a sister, Marcie Barnett of Austin, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
