I worked for Al for several years at SRS, and can say with out any reservations, he was a man of integrity. He truly believed in "Team Concept", and treated everyone he supervised with dignity and respect. He set the bar to a level many others may never reach. I am proud to have known him as a "Boss" and friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are offered to Al's family and loved ones! I had the pleasure of serving with Al when we were together as Officer In Charge of our respective sections of Marine Corps Engineer School, 1972-1974. That's the same time that Al was spending so much of his time working with the Army and USMC Headquarters and the Army Engineers at Ft. Leonard Wood, that led to eventual move of the USMC Engineer Equipment portion of the school to move from MCES to FLW.
All of us in our Marine Corps Engineer Association very much enjoyed serving with and knowing Al and Rita.
Lord,
We thank you for the life and friendship of Al Fernandez . May he rest in eternal peace in your loving arms. We pray for his family as they mourn his passing. You clearly tell us that you will comfort all those who mourn. Comfort this family with your love and touch. Thank you for the service and sacrifice of this Marine and his family for so many years. He has earned this rest. AMEN!
