Funeral services for Mr. James Wesley Orvin will be held Thursday, January 19, 2005 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Wilson Huffman and Clara Heath Orvin. A veteran of the Korean War, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a retired Hotel Manager. An avid duck hunter, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited and was also a Mason. He is survived by a son, John Wesley Orvin, Trenton, SC; daughters, Clare Margaret Orvin, West Columbia, SC and Elisabeth Elrod, Randy Leesville, SC; brothers, W.H. Orvin, Jr., Richard W. Orvin, and Clifton Orvin, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters, Clara Jean Parker, Boise, ID, Janice Denny, Pfaffton, NC and Irene Logan, Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Brooke Elisabeth Ayers, Leesville, SC.; and grandsons, Clayton and Brice Elrod. His wife, Mrs. Shirley Jean Hammett Orvin, preceded him in death.
