Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara G. Edwards will take place on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park & Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to The Christian Children's Fund, PO Box 26507, Richmond, VA 23261. Mrs. Edwards, 60, of Aiken, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at her residence. A daughter of the late Charles Guinn and Juanita Andrews, she was born in Loretta, TN and had lived in Aiken most of her life. She was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church and had retired as a Financial Controller at The Savannah River Site. She was known as a compassionate woman who supported many charities and loved to be around children in addition to reading and learning. She is survived by her husband, James Edwards, Aiken, SC; three children, Michael B. Moseley, Aiken, SC Melissa Johnny Maddox, Clarks Hills, SC and Monica Cromer, Aiken, SC; two step daughters, Lisa Jason Hutto, Williston, SC and Laura Edwards, Easley, SC; a sister, Katherine Kaney, Aiken, SC and a brother, Ron Guinn, TN. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
