Aiken, SC-Funeral services for Mr. David Monroe Taylor will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 in Cullowhee, NC, under the direction of Melton-Riddle Funeral Home, Sylva, NC 828 586-8600. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 5, 2003 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mr. Taylor, 64, of Montmorenci, SC, husband of Mrs. Emma Jean S. Taylor, died Friday, morning, April 4, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Laurens, SC, a son of the late Howard Andrew Taylor and the late Leila Maleta Taylor, he had been a resident of Aiken, SC, for the last thirty-years, where he retired after twenty years of service in Maintenance from Glaxo Smith Kline. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he retired after twenty-one years of service. In addition to his wife, Emma Jean S. Taylor, daughters, Kay Bryson, and her husband, Larry, Connie Watson and Mike Hooper, and Pam Taylor, sons, Russell Taylor and his wife, Terry, and Mark Taylor and his wife, Trina, all of Cullowhee, NC; step-son, Jerry C. Smith, Charleston, SC; brother, William A. Taylor and his wife, Marie, Panama City, FL; sisters, Shirley Tilson, and Lillie Mae Scussel, both of Cullowhee, NC, and Ruthalene Miller, and her husband, Wayne, Chicago, IL; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive Mr. Taylor.
