Funeral services for Mr. Gary Wayne Harris will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Town Creek Baptist Church at 11 AM with Rev. Clint Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW on Friday evening from 6-8pm. Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Brent DeGennaro, TJ Sprinkle, Roy Broome, Keith Johnson and John Morelli. Honorary pallbearers will be the Alan Hay Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Town Creek Baptist Church, Go Fund, In Memory of Gary Harris, 250 Town Creek Rd., Aiken, SC, 29803. Mr. Harris, 59, of Aiken, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his residence. A son of the late William H. and Selma Sherrod Harris, he was born in Savannah and had lived in Augusta before moving to Aiken in 1972. Gary was a retired technical leader with SRS and a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. He loved listening to music and was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. Gary was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He loved his church and church family. Gary is survived by his precious wife, Mary R. Harris; a son, Chris Brown of Aiken; brothers, Glenn Harris of Evans, Ga., Gene Harris Shirley of Folkston, Ga., and Mark Harris Evalyn of Augusta; a sister, Mary Anne Harris of Augusta; special cousins, Dale and Barbara Slack of Augusta; his "little girls", Elizabeth DeGennaro and Melanie Sprinkle and their husbands, Brent DeGennaro and TJ Sprinkle; his "little buddies" Andrew and Jacob DeGennaro, and his "sweet girls" Taylor and Sara Grace Hunt, whom he considered as his grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; his "babies, Sissy, Little Man and Chloe.
