Memorial services for Mrs. Greta Mageline Jeffreys Garen will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 4pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken with Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home until 6:30pm. Mrs. Garen, 78, of Aiken, died Saturday, February 20, 2010. Born in Russellville, AL, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Letha Mays Jeffreys. She lived in St. George, GA before moving to Aiken in 2003. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over thirty-five years. She served her country in the Army Medical Corps. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ivan Leo Garen; sisters, Sarah Gray and Joan Jeffreys and a brother, Billy Jeffreys. She is survived by her sons, Paul Charlotte Garen, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; John Susan Garen, Warrenville, SC; James Garen, Jacksonville, FL; Bogan Terry McQuigg, Navarre, FL; brothers Danny May Belle Jeffreys, Salem, OR; Donald Anna Jeffreys, Auburn, WA; sisters, Margie Clayton Parker, Betty Onnis Terry, both of Trinity, AL; sister-in-law, Betty Jeffreys, Trinity, AL; and five grandchildren.
