Ralph B. Smith, 66, of Aiken, SC formerly of Columbus, Ohio died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was born, June 26, 1946 in St. Louis, MO to Ozeta Beckes Smith and Ralph O. Smith. Ralph was raised in Vincennes, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University. Before retiring, Ralph worked for Big Lots, Inc, in Columbus, Ohio for 29 years, most recently as a senior buyer. An avid sailor, he loved family sailing trips to the Caribbean. He also loved his weekly golf games at Woodside with his many golf buddies. Survivors include his wife, Pat; two daughters, Shelly Claycomb Kevin, Samantha; two sons, Bryan Clair, Ralph Stephanie, three brothers and two sisters, and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Vincennes, Indiana. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, February 10th from 3 to 5 at the Smith residence on Cottonwood Creek. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
