Obituary of Richard W. Gillette

A memorial service for Mr. Richard W. Gillette will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Road, Aiken SC 29803. Interment will immediately follow at the church columbarium. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting the family.
Mr. Gillette, 68, of Aiken, died Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence.
A son of the late Kenneth C. Gillette and Nettie Ramberg Gillette, he was born in Philadelphia, PA and had lived in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan before moving to Aiken in 2004.
Dick retired in 2001 after spending his entire career in Information Technology for the Ford Motor Company. He had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he had served as the financial director. Dick was also a member of the Masterworks Chorale, an active member of the Cedar Creek Homeowners Association and an avid golf and tennis player.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Kristoffer Gillette and a brother, Ken Gillette.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Schriner-Gilbert Gillette, Aiken; two daughters, Karin Adam Bystol, Fanwood, NJ and Nora Jimmy Francis, Destin, FL; three step children, Karen Tom Richardson, Ada, Michigan, David Christine Gilbert, Birmingham, Michigan and Brian Julie Gilbert, Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Katie Gilbert, Alex Gilbert, Ian Gilbert, Ellie Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert, Meghan Richardson, Jared Richardson, Danny Richardson and Isaak Bystol.
