Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mary Trinkl LaRoche will be celebrated Monday, June 14, 2004 at 11 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 18, 1909, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Anna Milligan Abbott, Mrs. LaRoche passed away in Newark, DE May 23, 2004. She would have turned ninety-five her next birthday. She was active in several Catholic organizations, among then the Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters of America, and Court St. Ann. She was a charter member of the Town and Country Club and a staunch and active supporter of the Republican Party. She gave tirelessly of her time and talents to schools, churches, and various charity organizations in the communities in which she lived, Sewickley, PA, Southampton, NY, Aiken, SC, and St. Petersburg, FL. She lived in Southern Shores, NC with her daughter and son-in-law for five years before moving with them to Delaware in 1997. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling, bowling, and the theater; Countless needlework items grace the homes of her family and friends. She was a great cook and accomplished seamstress. She loved to entertain and was visited regularly by her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the beach in Nags Head with her grandchildren and their friends every summer when they were in high school and college. Her beloved husband, John Joseph Trinkl, predeceased her in 1955. She married Harold ?Buddy? LaRoch, also formerly of Aiken, in 1967 in Florida. He died in 1975. Surviving are daughter, Joan Trinkl Holstein and son-in-law, George, Bear, DE; son, John Joseph Trinkl, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Alice, San Francisco, CA; sister, Dorothy Tevis, Pittsburgh, PA; devoted grandchildren, Stephen Breske and his wife, Susan, Shawn Breske and his wife Fran, all of Wilmington, DE; and Sharon Breske and her husband, Bill Lammey, West Chester, PA; much loved great-granddaughters, Madison and Jenna Breske, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored their ?Aunt Mary?. All who knew and loved her will miss her. She touched many lives and made a lasting impression on them.
