AIKEN, SC - Carl L. Angerman, age 85, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Angerman was born November 4, 1930 in Lima, Ohio to the late Frank and Matilda Angerman. He was employed by DuPont in Chicago following graduation from Bowling Green University. DuPont sent Carl and his bride to Aiken, SC to work at the Savannah River Plant. His career began as one of the original DuPont employees in 1951 and spanned until 1991. He began his career as a metallurgist and transitioned to Westinghouse.
Mr. Angerman was an avid duplicate bridge player, loved reading and gardening and as a golfer, he was one of the original members of Houndslake Country Club in Aiken.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannine Adell Angerman; his second wife, Nellie Marrs Angerman, and a grand-daughter, Amie Jeannine Collins.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie Adell Angerman, Raleigh, NC and Jill Ann Barker (Donald), Memphis, TN; two sons, Ronald Allan Angerman, Gilbert, SC; and Jeffrey Carl Angerman (Susan), Aiken, SC; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Aiken Memorial Gardens.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Cumberland Village club house,
3335 Wise Creek Lane, Aiken, SC on August 20th from 10 am to 2 pm.
