Obituary of James Albert Puckett

Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Albert Puckett, 57, of Aiken, will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Cedar Creek Church, officiated by Pastor Phillip Lee. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Ray Levesque, Michael Maclure, David Hart, Eric Loveland, Daniel Cowden and Steve Shelton. Memorial donations may be made to the Celebrate Recovery of Cedar Creek Church. Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, he was a son of the late Harold and Irene Maddox Puckett. Mr. Puckett was retired from Carolina Pipeline Company after 18 years of service. He was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Church where he was a part of the Leadership of Celebrate Recovery, Encourager Coach and a member of the CORE team. Jimmy was also a loving husband, father, son and Avid Clemson fan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Butch Pippin. Survivors include his loving wife, Rose Stevens Puckett; his sons, Michael Sutton (Cindy) of Aiken, Ben Sutton (Ashley) of Warrenville and Brandon Puckett (Marie) of Columbia; sisters, Betty Verant (Joe) of Aiken, Debbie Nichols (Pat) of Evans, Georgia, Dottie Claybough (John) Seymour, TN and Patsy Simmons of Aiken; grandchildren, Madison Sutton, Rylee Sutton, both of Aiken, Logan Geisler, Maddox Sutton, Aubrey Grace "Tink" Sutton all of Warrenville, William Emmett Puckett, Charlotte Ruth Puckett and Emerson Puckett all of Columbia; many special nieces and nepews. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Weems Pennington, Sr., and the Nursing Staff, Jessica, Sam, Reece, Paul, Desmond, Francine and Tammy, of the 5th floor at University Hospital for the loving care they provided.
