A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Clayton H. Phillips will be held Friday, October 15, 2004 at 5 PM at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Hawkins, La Porte, IN. As per his wishes, Mr. Phillips will be cremated and inurnment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks, MI. Mr. Phillips, 78, of Aiken, SC, husband of fifty-three years to Mrs. Rosemary Cashmer Phillips, died Sunday, night, October 10, 2004 with at his home with his family by his side. Born in Muskegon, MI, a son of the late Horace A. and Dorothy Bixby Phillips, he proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force and graduated from Purdue Technical College. He was a retired supervisor having worked for the American Can Company and Amoco Foam Products. In addition to his wife, daughters, Gwen Suthann, Tucson, AZ, Julie Zagha, Los Angeles, CA, Cynthia Phillips, Rogersville, TN and Shelia Phillips, Birmingham, AL; a grandson, Jacob Zagha and a granddaughter, Sarah Zagha, both of Los Angeles, CA, survive. The family has requested that memorials in memory of Mr. Phillips be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 109 Interlachen Ct., Aiken, sc 29803 or Hitchcock Hospice 690 Medical Park Dr., Aiken, SC 29801.
