A memorial service for Mrs. Nell Meacham Mobley will be held Friday, August 6, 2004 at 4 PM in the chapel of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC with Pastor Sam Marcengill officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date in the Maplewood Cemetery, Kinston, NC. Mrs. Mobley, 92, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late Al Mobley, died Sunday, morning, August 1, 2004 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, Aiken, SC. Born in Rockingham, NC, a daughter of the late Henry and Judy Bolton Meacham, she had taught school in Kinston, NC and Orangeburg, SC prior to coming to Aiken, SC, in the early 1950's where she retired after twenty-three years of service in the Records Division of Savannah River Plant. Mrs. Mobley spent winters in Naples, FL where she attended East Naples United Methodist Church and was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC where she was a member of the Katie Williams Sunday Sunday_School Class. Nieces and nephews, Maude and her husband, George Speight, Mt. Airy, NC, Henry and his wife Lou Stanley, Casselberry, FL, Jane and her husband Ned Cunningham, Smithfield, NC, and Bill Austin, Smithfield, NC; and her extended family, Jim and Brenda McKinney, Aiken, SC, survive. At the request of Mrs. Mobley, please make memorials in her memory to the Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29250-9988
