Funeral services for Mrs. Eugenia Joiner DeLoache will be held Friday
November 21, 2008 at 2pm at Aiken First Presbyterian Church with Dr. David
Cozad officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family
will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 6-8pm at George
Funeral Home and Cremation Center 211 Park Ave SW Aiken. Mrs. DeLoache, 84, of Aiken, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers after a long illness.
Born in Reynolds, GA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene H. and Sarah
Harp Joiner. Eugenia graduated from the Reynolds High School as the
Valedictorian and later Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry. She moved to the Aiken area in 1952 and was
employed by the Lower Savannah Council of Governments for many years as a
project planner. She enjoyed singing, New Orleans style, and Dixieland
music. She was a member of the Aiken First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James W.
Joiner. Mrs. DeLoache is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years,
George DeLoache, three daughters; Theresa DeLoache, Nicole DeLoache, both of
Aiken; Carolyn DeLoache, Gainesville, FL; two sons Barry Brenda DeLoache,
Aiken, Kyle DeLoache, San Francisco, CA; seven grandchildren, and three
great grandchildren.
