Funeral services for Martha Jane Thompson, 80, of Aiken, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Jenkins. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Kimball, Wayne Kimball, David Kimball, Will Jeffcoat, Aaron Knowles and Michael Frady. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Hitchcock Rehab. Mrs. Thompson, widow of William Thompson, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Born in Newton, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James and Clara Pickett. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson started her nursing career with Aiken County Hospital and retired from Hitchcock Homecare. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Wood and a grandson, William Sizemore, Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Sizemore (William) of New Ellenton; 5 grandchildren, Denise Frady (Michael), Jamie Knowles (Aaron), Tiffany Hunter (Andrew), Jessica Jeffcoat (Will) and Elliott Wood and 8 great-grandchildren.
