Funeral services for Mr. C.H. ?Red? Bolt will be held Sunday, December 1, 2002 at 2 PM from the graveside in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Ellenton, SC, with Reverend Randy Taylor officiating and Reverend Louise Pope, officiating. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Shawn Bolt, B.J. Bolt, T.C. Bolt, and Dylan Bolt, and nephews, Perry and Van Oakley. The New Ellenton Masonic Lodge # 389 will accord Masonic rites. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2002 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Bolt, 75, of New Ellenton, SC, husband of the late Melba Bolt, passed away, Wednesday, night, November 27, 2002 at his residence.
Born in Anderson, SC, a son of the late William Bolt and the late Maggie Darby Bolt, he had lived in New Ellenton, SC, since 1952, where he was Past Master of New Ellenton Masonic Lodge # 389, Past Worthy Patron of Order of the Eastern Star, was both a Scottish and York Rite Mason, and was a Shriner with the Aiken Shrine Club and the Jamil Temple, Columbia, SC. Mr. Bolt was formerly active with New Ellenton Youth Sports. Mr. Bolt retired after thirty-two years of service as a Welder with E.I. DuPont. During World War II, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. A Christian, Mr. Bolt attended St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton, SC.
A daughter, Becky Dinkins, Lexington, SC; sons, Scotty Bolt, William Richard Bolt, and Tony C. Bolt, all of Aiken, SC; sister, Doris Hendrickson, St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, survive Mr. Bolt.
