A memorial service for Mrs. Arlene Hale Kay will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center Chapel, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken with Rev Robert T. Byrnes officiating. Inurnment will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 12:30pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12pm until the hour of service. Mrs. Kay, 71, of Aiken, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Natalie Harding Hale. She had lived in Nutley, NJ, Upper Montclair, NJ, Hilton Head Island, SC, Columbia, SC, before moving to Aiken in 2007. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. She was a realtor and real estate broker for over thirty years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, The Reserve Club in Woodside Plantation, and a volunteer at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Arlene liked to read, travel, and play golf.
She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Kay, Sr., sons, Robert E. Webb, Troutville, VA; Robert B. Tiffany Kay, Jr., Columbia; grandchildren, Charles E. Webb, Madeline Kay, and Lily Reese Kay.
