Funeral Services for Mary Roye Cornetti will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 2:00pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken. Pallbearers will be: Brett Laird, Calvin McCravy, Brad Laird, Ron Moore, Jr. and Brian Holloway. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at on Wednesday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Cornetti, of Aiken, died Sunday at Aiken Regional Medical Center. She was born in Hendricks, West Virginia and had lived in Cookville, TN before moving to Aiken in 1965. She graduated from Duquesne University with a BS in nursing. She later earned her Masters Degree from Bradley University. Her early years were spent mostly as a nurse and as Director of Nursing at Washington County Hospital in Washington, PA She worked as a school teacher at Kennedy Middle School in Aiken from 1965 ? 1978.. She is survived by her husband, retired USC-Aiken professor Albert E. Cornetti, Aiken, whom she married in 1947, a son; Rick Cornetti, Aiken, four grandchildren; Mary Beth Brett Laird, Aiken, Ellen M. Holloway, Burnettown, Emily H. Arthurs, Warrenville, and Daniel R. Cornetti, Augusta,. Mrs. Cornetti is also survived by five great- grandchildren.
