Mrs. Redd, 61, of Aiken, entered everlasting peace on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family's unbroken love.
A daughter of J. W. Bedenbaugh and the late Emma Gulledge Bedenbaugh, she was born in Batesburg, SC and had lived in Aiken most of her life.
Linda earned Bachelor's, Master's, and Educational Specialist degrees from the University of South Carolina. She served as an upper grades elementary teacher and subsequently assumed guidance counselor duties at East Aiken and Byrd Elementary Schools. After thirty-three years as an educator, Linda retired in 2010. She was a member of the Beta Delta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, where she served as corresponding secretary, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse.
Linda was a kind, caring and compassionate person; faithful and virtuous in every dimension of her life and profession. She was dependable, talented and creative; loved people; placed a high value on education and selflessly devoted her time and energy to improving the lives of students, staff and entire families. Deeply spiritual, patient and stalwart, she was a wonderful wife, loving mother and friend to all. Her legacy of love is reflected in the adoring smiles of children and abiding presence in the hearts of her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a sister, Louise Bedenbaugh New.
She is survived by her husband of twenty eight years, Alan G. Redd, Aiken; a son, Evan Maxwell Michelle Redd, Aiken; a daughter, Lindsay Miranda Redd, Aiken; her father, J.W. Bedenbaugh, Graniteville; a brother, Joe Wilson Bedenbaugh, Graniteville and her nieces and nephews.
