AIKEN, SC - Donnie Ray Henderson, age 62, entered into rest on September 29, 2016. Donnie was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late James Edward Henderson and the late Geraldine Chunn Smathers. He has been a resident of Aiken, SC for since early childhood. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Redd's Branch Baptist Church. Donnie was a painter by trade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Earlene Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Virginia "Ginger" Gunter Henderson; two sisters, Ann Smith (Jerry), of Aiken, SC and Teresa Bagwell (Joe), Spartanburg, SC; and two brothers, Michael Smathers, Aiken, SC and Ricky Marshall (Kristie), Spartanburg, SC. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Redd's Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Richard McWhite officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 3:30 PM. Memorial donations may be directed to Redd's Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redd's Branch Rd, Aiken, SC 29801.
