Obituary of Arne Albert Johnson

A memorial service for Mr. Arne A. Johnson will be held on Friday March 7, 2008 at 2pm at Cumberland Village with The Rev. Mr. Christopher Davies of All Saints Anglican Church officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to Savannah River Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW is assisting the Johnson family. Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, he was a son of the late Albert and Lempi Rusten Johnson. He resided in Minneapolis, MN for many years and then lived in the Lake Worth, FL area before moving to Cumberland Village, Aiken, four years ago. He retired in 1974 as the Controller of Mutual Service Insurance Companies, St. Paul MN, where he had worked for many years. Arne enjoyed hunting and fishing most of his life. In retirement he was an avid golfer, oil painter, and bridge player. His poetry was regularly published in the Cumberland Village Newsletter. In addition to his parents, he was pre deceased by a son, Edwin Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Miriam Johnson, Aiken, SC, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Andrea Johnson, Aiken, daughter-in-law, Pat Johnson, Haines City, FL, two grandchildren; Terrance Johnson and Michelle Dennis, of Michigan, 3 great grandchildren; Jennifer Fulk, of Colorado, Janelle Fulk and Maggie Dennis of Michigan.
