A memorial service for Mrs. Mable Milne Hurlbutt will be held 2PM, Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, with Rev. Dr. David Cozad and Rev. Martha Ebel officiating.
Resident of Aiken for 14 years having resided in Philadelphia, PA, New York, Connecticut and Arizona. Mable called Eden Gardens ?Home? and was member of
First Presbyterian Church, Aiken.
Homemaker, Businesswoman as owner/operator of ?Milk Barn?, Bed and Breakfast Inn and Dress Shop in Connecticut. Mable was a Legal Secretary in Lakeville CT and Administrative Assistant/Secretary to President at Hotchkiss School, CT.
Expert culinary specialist with baking, cooking and canning specialties shared by many family and friends over the years. Mable was an avid Seamstress; expert handwork skills with knitting, crochet and sewing; and expert Decorator. Mable was an avid tennis player and past member of Houndslake County Club. Volunteered at Wheel Chair tennis, Helping Hands, Meals on Wheels and other community activities.
Pre-deceased by her parents, William and Mabel Milne; Husband, Frank ?Boss? Hurlbutt, CT; Brothers William and Henry Milne; Sister-in-law Alice Riker Milne.
Survived by, sadly missed and much loved by Son Scott Warner and wife, Lucy, CT.; Niece ?like my daughter? Nancy Milne Haff and husband, Richard, NJ, seven grand-children; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; Sister Barbara and Ed Lynch, FL; and sister-in-law Ginny Milne, MA; God Daughter, Lise Bjering, NY, numerous friends especially Elizabeth Sitgreaves, Betty Robinson, Marty and Stephen Lee all of Aiken as well as Karen Bowles and Cathy Short, RN of Eden Gardens and Dr. Suh of Aiken, SC.
