Funeral Services for Kenneth Russell Cole, Sr. will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 3pm at South Aiken Presbyterian Church, 1711 Whiskey Rd., Aiken with Rev. John L. Frye, Jr. officiating. Masonic services will be held immediately following the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 2pm until the time of the service. They will also receive friends at the residence of Ken Jr. after the service. Memorial donations should be directed to the Hitchcock Woods Foundation or to South Aiken Presbyterian Church. George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cole, 83, of Aiken, died Thursday at Carriage Hills Plantation. A son of the late George Albert and Elizabeth Henderson Cole, he was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Levittown, NY before moving to Aiken 32 years ago. Mr. Cole served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a retired salesman for Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ and had then worked as a sales-manager for Tri-County Auto Parts in Farmingdale NY and was featured in their television commercials. He retired in 1971. Mr. Cole was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and was a member of Aiken Masonic Lodge #156 and Hicksville NY Masonic Lodge where he held various leadership positions within the Lodge and was a Life Member. He was a long-time Volunteer Fireman for the Levittown Volunteer Fire Department and was nicknamed ?Woody the Woodpecker? because of his skill at ventilating rooftops. He was also a charter member of the Whiskey Road Foxhounds and the Aiken Driving Club. He is survived by his wife; Barbara Bouton Cole, Aiken, two sons; Kenneth Russell Cole, Jr., Aiken and Clifford M. Cole, Sr., Aiken; 2 daughter-in-laws, Jamie Boettger Cole, Aiken and Jeanie Parrott Cole, Aiken; a brother, Donald Cole, Aiken, a sister, Muriel Cole VanAuken, Greenville, SC, and four grandchildren; Kenneth Russell Cole III, Heather Noel Cole, Clifford Marshall Cole, Jr., and Garrett Marshall Cole. Pallbearers Kenneth Russell Cole Jr., Clifford Marshall Cole Sr., Kenneth Russell Cole III, Clifford Marshall Cole Jr., Richard Barton, Benjamin Parrott. Alternate Pallbearer Richard Cole.
