Evans, Ga. Funeral services for Thomas Jackson "Jack" Jones, 74, of Evans, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Murphy. Burial, with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Jones, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Jellico, TN, he was a son of the late Earl and Ida Thurman Jones. Prior to moving to Evans, Mr. Jones lived in Aiken. He was the owner of Big Discount Clothing in Augusta, GA. He loved playing and watching golf, he enjoyed Blue Grass music and playing the banjo. Most of all, he loved his proudest accomplishment, his children. He was preceded in death by his brothers and a sister-in-law, Herbert Aaron Jones (Rose) and Samuel Earl Jones. Surviving include his loving wife of 53 years, Frances L. Jones of Evans; his children, Teresa Lynn Ringer (Scott) of Aiken, Jason Lee Jones of Atlanta, Joshua Aaron Jones of Evans and Kayla Leyda of Augusta; sisters, Mickey Olson (Ole), Kay Dheel (Frank) Molly Duncan (Murrel), Jean Bagwell (Roy) and Polly Townes (Paul) all of Aiken; 2 grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Stallings (Krystal) and Amanda Ruth Stallings all of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Buelah Jones of Knoxville, TN and several nieces and nephews.
