Dear Shirley and Family,
It was a privilege to meet you in Oct. 06 at Ed's house for the impromtu St. Martin's, Class of '52 reunion. I hadn't seen Marty for 54 years and when he walked in, he honestly looked the same! How sad for all that we can't repeat that, but how great was it that we did get together. His memory will live on and Judy and I wish you peace and love.

Shirley and family:
When we think of Marty, we hear his giggle, which usually increased to infectious laughter. He always had a smile, and his demeanor was upbeat and pleasant. We started most weeks for years meeting at 'The Red Barn' for Breakfast Specials; just sharing current event stories. Mart got the biggest kick hearing my family stories.
Marty was always so neat. Every thing was 'in perfect place'.
We feel very blessed to call him a "good friend"! He was one in a million. They don't get any better than that. The Knoll and The Reservoir, Maine and Aiken - he touched so many lives in a positive way. A Class Act!!!!
Love, Tommy and Jo Ann

Dear Shirley and Adelaide, Bob, Jim, Millisa and all:
Memories of Mart go so far back--to the many holidays our family shared with the Hendricks in New York when we were growing up, his "drop by" visits to our home when he was working in Queens, and more recent reunions in New York City and St. Pete's. We are truly going to miss him. His qualities of kindness and good humor touched so many people. Mart was fun and relaxing to be with--a good businessman, creative, athletic, and a sincere friend.
Shirley, it was always so apparent how much joy you brought to his life.
We are thinking of you all and pray that you will be comforted. Wish we could be there with you.

Too many memories of an early life as "brothers" on the summer coast of Maine and later in life, "hooking" up again was only natural. We're so happy that you shared our growing up experiances with our own children, brought Shirley into our lives, and had the most memorable wedding on our {your} front porch overlooking the gifts of nature that God has designed for all to bow down to. The most awesome wedding of our lives! Please thank HIM from all of us for that day, and for our love and friendship,AND don't give HIM too many short tap ins!Barb and I are forever in your debt for all the laughter and love you brought to our family.Reserve a golf bag for me!
Love, Barb and Tom

Marty,
Thought I didn't know you well, I knew a lot about you because of the way you conducted yourself on the golf course....an honest, friendly gentleman at all times. From that, I know you were the same in life. I'll miss you.
