Dorothy loved her family, her pets, and her award-winning needlework. In addition to being a loyal Army wife for 45 years and mother to Scott she worked for the Army, the Air Force, and the Department of Defense. She was the past president of the Biscayne Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA) and held several other positions in support of EGA. After having moved over 23 times to a wide variety of places in the United States, Germany, and Belgium, Dorothy selected Aiken as the area where she wanted to live. She has greatly enjoyed living with her friends and neighbors at the Twin Lakes Airpark , traveling to beautiful places, and the good times with her stitching companions in the Aiken Stitching Belles of the EGA, the American Needlepoint Guild, and the Birtwistle Sampler Guild. She was also a member of the Aiken-Augusta Chapter of the West Point Society, Chapter 172 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the Aiken Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Crawford; a son, Scott Crawford (Tami) of Clarksville, TN; a brother, Herb King (Purim) of West Chester County, NY and a granddaughter, Fallon Crawford.
