A memorial Mass for Mrs. Ann Pohle will be celebrated at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10am. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC is assisting the family. Mrs. Pohle, 74, of Aiken, formerly of Naperville, IL, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at her residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 120 Wall St. 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
A daughter of the late Anselm and Agnes Abt Maier, she was born in Ossining, NY and had lived in Naperville, IL before moving to Aiken fourteen years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken where she participated in Perpetual Adoration. Mrs. Pohle also was active in the following organizations: Women of Woodside Bridge Group, Mahjongg, Monday Book Club, and Ridge Seniors Couples Golf. Ann was a volunteer for the POA Landscape Committee of Woodside and a past member of Woodside Plantation Ladies Golf Association 18 holers. She was the treasurer for CEREUS Gardeners and Ikebana International. Prior to her move to Aiken, she had been employed by Old English Realtors as a secretary and realtor.
Ann is survived by her husband Arthur Pohle and daughter Barbara Lowe, Aiken, a son; Richard Sue Pohle of Solon, OH and her daughter Linda Jack Flint of Dacula, GA. She was the proud grandmother of Lauren Lowe, Aiken and Allison, Eric and Brooke Pohle of Solon, OH. She is also survived by her sister; Charlotte Clarence Munson of Hopewell Junction, NY, two nephews, Ron & Robert Munson of Texas, and one niece, Wendy Schuler of New York, and five great nieces.
