Obituary of Waldemar Schubert

Waldemar Schubert, formerly of Petersburg, VA, departed this life to be with the Lord on May 2nd, 2010. He was born in Yale, VA and resided in Dinwiddie County most of his adult life. He relocated to Aiken, SC at the age of 90 to be near his daughter Arlene James and her husband Richard of Aiken, SC. He is also survived by a son, Ron Schubert Shirley, Gaithersburg, MD; three grandchildren, Harold N. Higgins, Jr. Nyla, Chesterfield, VA, Wesley E. Higgins Jody, Henderson, NV and Holly Schubert, Gaithersburg, MD, and a sister; Helen Young, Stony Creek, VA. He is also survived by six great grandchildren and three little great-great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Goldie Brewer Schubert and his second wife, Frances Vaughn Price Schubert, his four brothers; Herbert, Frank, John and Richard and two sisters; Dorothy Chappell and Ruth Chappell.
He retired from Allied Chemical Corp. Hopewell, VA. His family and friends will always remember him as being an avid flower and vegetable gardener. He was always willing to share and wanted everyone to enjoy the beautiful flowers and fresh food as much as he did.
