A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. James Valentine Krafnick will be celebrated at St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Cloud MN on Saturday, July 19th at 9am. Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN on Friday July 18th at 2:30pm. George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken is assisting the family. Memorial donations may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 733 Third Ave. New York, NY 10017.
Mr. Krafnick, 81, of Aiken, died July 8, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in St. Cloud, MN, he was the son of the late Anton E. & Gertrude Harrington Krafnick. He was a WW II veteran of the US Army, a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3684 and Assembly #1074, Aiken, SC. He was also a member of the St. Cloud VFW Post #428, a former communicant of St. Augustine Church, St. Cloud, MN and a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Church, Aiken.
Besides his parents, Mr. Krafnick is pre-deceased by his wife, Mary Jane Wander Krafnick, who died earlier this year and sisters, Joyce Popilek and Margie Kosloske. He is survived by three sons; Richard Seritta Krafnick, Petaluma, CA, Donald Julia Krafnick, Aiken, SC and Charles Elizabeth Krafnick, Stratford, CT; a daughter, Mary Beth Markus Bryant, Wellington, OH; a brother; Pearl Harbor survivor Ralph Krafnick, St. Cloud, MN, a sister; Caroline Baker, St. Cloud, MN, nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
