Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lowe, 87, of Evans, GA, formerly of New Ellenton, SC will take place on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2pm at Chime Bell Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zachary Lowe, Russell Bodie, Richard Lowe, Patrick Lowe, Larry Lowe and Henderson Young. The family will receive friends at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken on Sunday, 6-8pm and on Monday from 1-2pm at the church. Mrs. Lowe, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at University Hospital, Augusta. A daughter of the late Emanuel Lybrand and Cora Lee Collins Lybrand, she was born in Aiken and had lived in New Ellenton until moving to Evans in 2006. She had been employed at the former New Ellenton Geriatric Center and then spent many years working at the Happy Land Day Care Center until she moved to Georgia. She was a member of Chime Bell Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lowe; four brothers, Herman Lybrand, William Lybrand, J. E. "Tom" Lybrand, and Ray Lybrand and three sisters, Mattie Jackson Hallman, Nellie Hallman and Mary Hooper. She is survived by a son, Joseph "Wayne" Lowe, North Augusta, SC; a daughter, Pamela Ann Steven Beacham, Evans, GA; a brother, Edward Lybrand, Livermore, CA; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
