Ruth Evelyn Varpness Alger
A graveside service will be held on April 26, 2004, at
2:00 p.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetary, Minneapolis,
with Rev. Drew Flathmann officiating.
Mrs. Alger, 81, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of
Minneapolis, wife of Kenneth T. Alger, who preceded her
in death in 1992, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in Aiken,
SC.
Born in Cottonwood, MN, a daughter of the late Edwin
and Helen Anderson Varpness, she had lived in Minneapolis,
where she retired as a secretary from State Farm Insurance Co.
prior to relocating to Aiken in May of 1996. She was of the
Lutheran faith, and previously a member of Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church.
A daughter, Andrea, and her husband David Johnson, Aiken, SC; sisters, Lois Russell, and Dorothy Koplitz, and Sister-in-Law, Loretta Varpness, and many nieces and nephews survive.
Friends may call after the service at the home of Dorothy
Koplitz, 8400 Humboldt Ave. So., Bloomington.
