Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Trammell Drake will be held Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11 AM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Mark Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers for the service will be Ben Lamunyon, Shaun Moseley, Russ Finley, Dean Reese, Tim Reese, and Edwin Riedel. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Richard Schoonover. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 8, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of Cheri Reese. Mrs. Drake, 89, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late Charles Hollis Drake, died Tuesday, afternoon, January 6, 2004 at Mattie C. Hall health Care Center. Born in Warrior, AL, a daughter of the late Lewis and Dena Jones Trammell, she had lived in Lawrenceburg, TN, prior to relocating to Aiken, SC, in 1952 where she was a member of the Aiken Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Sons, Charles David Drake, Lexington, KY and Donnie Drake, Aiken, SC; daughters, Jane Moseley and Cheri Reese, both of Aiken, SC and Brenda Schoonover, Longwood, FL; grandchildren, Butch Moseley, Dena Finley, Timmy Reese, and David Scott, great-grandchildren, Shaun Moseley, Jennifer Isenhoward, and Kristy Filmon, and a great-great-grandchild, Joseph Isenhoward. The family has requested that memorials in memory of Mrs. Drake be made to Southeastern Children?s Home, 155 Children?s Way, Duncan, SC 29334.
