Funeral services for Mr. Donald E. Jarrett will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at 2 PM from the graveside in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC, with Reverend Dr. Ken Klingler officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. The family will receive friends Monday, March 29, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC. Mr. Jarrett, 82, of Aiken, SC, husband of the late Vivian Iona Jarrett, died Saturday, evening, March 27, 2004 at Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center. Born in Athens, AL, a son of the late William S. and Allie Tomlin Jarrett, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, for fifty-one years where he a been a former part-time Police Officer for the City of New Ellenton, SC and retired from S.R.S. as a Maintenance Mechanic in 1981. A veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and also the New Ellenton Masonic Lodge #389. A daughter, Debra Ann and her husband, Larry Fields, North Augusta, SC, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, survive. A son, Harold E. Jarrett preceded him in death. The family has requested that if so desired, memorials in memory of Mr. Jarrett be made to the Alzheimer?s Association c/o the Council on Aging, P.O. Box 3156, Aiken, SC 29802.
