Obituary of Hattie Eva Riley

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Eva Riley will be held Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 11 AM at Rocky Springs Baptist Church, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Milford Oswald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad and Brandon Gentry, Stanley and Stan Hunnicutt, and Paul DeSantis. Mrs. Riley will be placed in the church at 10 AM Saturday. The family will receive friends Friday, October 14, 2005 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC.
Mrs. Riley, 79, of Aiken, SC, died Wednesday, afternoon, October 12, 2005 at Westwood Nursing Facility, Evans, GA.
Born in Clarks Hill, SC, a daughter of the late B.T. and Jesse Prince Bussey, she had been a resident of Edgefield County, SC, until relocating to Aiken, in 1954, where she became a faithful member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Riley had a great love for children and had babysat many of the neighborhood children for many years. She also enjoyed flowers and Braves baseball.
She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Winburn Cliett, Evans, GA; son, Lonnie Wayne Riley, Aiken, SC; brother, B.T. Bussey, Columbia, SC; sisters, Vonnie Gentry and Sylvia Mixon, both of Wagener, SC; grandchildren, Alison Broome, Kevin Winburn, Brandy Riley, and Jesse Riley and great-grandchildren, Cale, Abby, and Drew Winburn and Daniel and Charlie Broome.
Her husband, Birt Eldon Riley, preceded her in death.
