Mrs. Goldman, 79 of Aiken, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A daughter of the late Johnny and Bertha Sheppard Douglas, she was born in Edgefield and before moving to Windsor, had lived in Aiken. She was an accomplished entertainer, singer and songwriter who played several musical instruments. More important though was that she considered herself a wife and a mother first. Mrs. Goldman had worked as a chiropractic assistant to the late Dr. John Gilliam of Aiken and she was extremely proud of the fact that she had attended the Palmer Chiropractic School in Ft. Worth, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goldman is pre-deceased by two sisters, Louise Hobbs and OraLee Matthews and a brother, Horace Douglas. She is survived by her husband, Walter F. Goldman, Aiken, two sons; Jerry Goldman, Wagener and Donald Bear Goldman, Windsor and three daughters; Shelba Cooper, Windsor, Peggy Doolittle, Aiken and Elaine Murphy, Aiken. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
