Memorial services for Mrs. Nellie Marrs Angerman will be held Monday, October 9, 2006 at 11am at St Thaddeus Episcopal Church with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will be private in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive guest after the Memorial services in the narthex.. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Road, Aiken, SC 29803 or American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210-1790.
Mrs. Angerman, 68, of Aiken, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at her residence.
Mrs. Angerman was born in Portersville, WV to the late Walter and Eunice Reynolds Marrs. Mrs. Angrerman formerly Nellie M. Goosey resided in North Augusta for many years where she was active at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church serving on the Alter Guild and contributing to the formation of the Christmas Bizaar. She attended LaVarenne cooking school in Paris, France. This led to teaching cooking classes for the church and a catering service for herself. She sailed most Sunday afternoons with friends at the Augusta Sailing Club. She was active in the Augusta Opera Society helping behind the scenes in several performances. She became a Braillist to illustrate greeting cards and books for small children. She retired from E.I. DuPont Savannah River Site after thirty three years of service and worked for Westinghouse another three years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Angerman was predeceased by a brother, Leo Marrs, and a sister Donna Burgess, Mrs. Angerman is survived by her husband, Carl Angerman, a brother, James Marrs, Nitro, WV, and sister, Phyllis Moody, Murfreesboro, TN.
