A Funeral Mass for Mr. John "Bud" T. Cordell will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10am at St. Mary Help of Christian Catholic Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends after the Mass in Smith Hall. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Mr. Cordell, 87, of Aiken, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late William and Mary Jane Donnelly Cordell. He lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Seminole FL, Largo FL, before moving to Aiken in 2003. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Houndslake Country Club, and Tides Country Club. Bud liked to play golf, sing, travel, and fix almost anything. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, and six sisters. He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Betty Hoover Cordell, daughter, Joan Miller, Aiken; son, Thomas Erin Cordell, Pittsburgh, PA; grandsons, Matthew Cordell, and Jeffrey Cordell.
