Mr. Thomas Joseph Kennedy, 81, of Aiken, formerly of College Park, MD died February 18, 2014. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11am at St. Mary Help of Christians Church. He will then be interred with his wife at Calvary Cemetery, Aiken. GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER is assisting with arrangements. A son of the late Edward Kennedy and Catherine Donnelly Kennedy, he was born in Jersey City, NJ and had lived in College Park, MD before moving to Aiken in 2013. He had worked as an estimator for Allied and then North American Van Lines. He had been a long time member of Knights of Columbus Council #2809, Assembly #383 and the Moose Lodge in College Park, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie B. Kennedy who died in 1999 and three brothers, Jimmy Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and Edward Kennedy. He is survived by three daughters, Kelly (Perry) Stanley, Aiken, SC, Colleen Kennedy, Riverdale, MD and Tracy (Raymond) Briscoe, Laurel, MD and a sister, Catherine Ferrari, Plano, TX. He was also survived by four grandchildren, Craig Robert Stanley, Amber Harrell, Lori Garrett and Tre Briscoe. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the secured unit at Unihealth-PAC, Aiken for their care and to Amber Harrell for her loving care in his final days. Memorial donations, in his memory, may be directed to Alzheimer's research.
