Funeral services for Mr. Byron Lloyd Turner will be held Friday, July 6, 2007 at 2pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory Roswell, GA. Interment will follow in Maxwell Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 6-8pm at George Funeral home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken. Memorial contributions may be directed to Maxwell Cemetery Fund, c/o Neil Turner, 6453 Bently Road, Cumming, GA, 30040. Mr. Turner, 87, of New Ellenton, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at his residence. Born in Alpharetta, GA, he was the son of the late Guy and Bessie Moore Turner. He moved to New Ellenton in 1951 form Mobile, AL. He retired from DuPont Savannah River Site after twenty five years as a boiler maker and was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He loved to garden, hunt and fish. He was a loving husband. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Bessie Etheridge Turner in 1981. He is survived by his wife Mary Smith Turner, son, Corky Sandy Turner, Roswell, GA, daughter, Brenda Ronnie Haney, Rutledge, GA, step son, Robert Jean Watson, Aiken, step Daughter, Ann Jim Arnold, New Ellenton, grandchildren, Stephanie Burton Hacker, Jenny Larry Persky, both of Rutledge, GA, six step grandchildren, great grandchildren, Rebecca Hacker, Katie Hacker, eleven step great grandchildren, and four step great great grandchildren.
