Private, graveside funeral services for Mr. Robert T. Griffith will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery, North Augusta, SC. Mr. Griffith, 92, of North Augusta, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at his residence. Memorial donations may be made to Regency Hospice, 105 Summerwood Way, Suite D, Aiken SC 29803, or to charity of choice. A son of the late William Griffith and Mildred Knight Griffith, he was born in Salt Lake City, UT on May 21, 1917. He served in United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during WW II. He was a member of the Stanford University Alumni and was retired from Chevron Corporation after 35 years of service, including manager of operations in American Samoa. He had lived in Watsonville, CA before retiring to Bluffton, SC in 1998. They then moved to Aiken in 2001 and then to North Augusta in 2007. He was also a retired real estate broker, life member of Confidence Masonic Lodge #110, CA and a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in North Augusta, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by first wife Beryl Griffith and granddaughter Heather Bowman. Surviving are his wife Jacqueline C. Carlyon Griffith; son and daughter-in-law Barry and Judy Griffith of Salinas, CA, and granddaughter Karen Uribe; daughter Beverly Bowman of Aurora, CO; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Monty Hyde of North Augusta, SC, and their sons Jeremy, Zachary, Skyler and Brycen Hyde. Also leaves sister Gloria Clark of Cupertino, CA and sister and brother-in-law Kay and Dwight Upton of Auburn CA.
